PERU ADVENTURE TOURS CULTURAL - 11 DAYS

Itinerary:

Day 01: Air-Hotel Lima
Reception and transfer to your selected hotel in Lima. This day is free to rest.

Day 02: Tour in Lima Paracas - Pisco
After an early, 7:00am breakfast, we start our tour in the capital city of Peru, Lima. We begin by visiting the most important areas: The Cathedral, San Francisco Convent, The Convent of Santo Domingo, The Government Palace and move on to see the modern city of Lima with its towering buildings of Miraflores, San Isidro and the beautiful beaches. After lunch, at about 1:30, we’ll take a Cruz del Sur bus to Pisco, approximately three hours away, and then go directly to a hotel in Paracas. We have a reception and dinner.

Day 03: Ballestas Islands-Ica Vineyards-Laguna-Nazca Huacachina
After breakfast you will visit the most amazing place of all, the Ballestas Islands. We'll embark on a motored yacht accompanied by a guide to the island where you can see: sea lions, Humboldt penguins, dolphins, and more than 200 species of migratory birds. Our two-hour trip returns us to Paracas, where we then continue to the city of Ica, forty-five minutes south. Ica is known for producing great wines and the famous Peruvian drink, Picso. We have lunch in a restaurant in the countryside and in the afternoon, we’ll visit an artisanal vineyard and the Laguna de Huacachina. Around 5:00pm we’ll travel a final two more hours to Nazca and settle in at the hotel for the night.

Day 04: Flight Over the Nazca Lines - City tour of Nasca - Arequipa
In the morning, we go to the local airport for a briefing before our Nazca Lines flight. You will make a forty to forty-five minute flight over the enigmatic Nazca lines. At the end of the flight, we will tour some important areas such as the Chauchilla cemetery, view the artisan ceramic process and see manufacturers of artisanal gold. At the end we have a traditional lunch and later we’ll take a Cruz del Sur bus to the city of Arequipa, a journey of approximately ten hours. We will be received and settle into our hotel for the night.

Day 05: Tour in Arequipa
The next morning is reserved for acclimatization and free time. After lunch, we’ll start the tour at 2:00pm to visit the city’s of Arequipa’s most important places, such as The Cathedral, The Monastery of Santa Catalina, and some other interesting places. At 6:30pm, we’ll return to the hotel and have our briefing for the next day before settling in.

Day 06: Colca Canyon
A 7:30am breakfast starts our day, before we leave for a private, four-hour tour of the Colca Valley. Beautiful landscapes can be seen all around us, including the Volcanos Misti and Chachani, and see many vicuñas, relatives of the llamas and alpacas. After reaching 4,600m, we descend to reach Chivay. We have lunch and rest in our hostel. For the remainder of the afternoon, you're free to relax or take an optional visit to the hot springs of La Calera, located just 2 km away from Chivay.

Day 07: Chivay Mirador del Condor-Arequipa
After a 5:45am breakfast, we continue further into the Colca Valley. On this two hour journey we’ll see beautiful landscapes and arrive to Cabanaconde and then head to the Mirador del Condor for a breathtaking view of the canyon and too see the spectacular flight of the condors. After enjoying this wonderful place with the view of the canyon and the flight of the condors, we’ll return to Chivay and along with way visit some typical local areas. After lunch, we return to the city of Arequipa, arriving at approximately 5:30pm. At our hostel, we get our briefing about the next day’s trip to Cusco before going to bed.

Day 08: Cusco to Arequipa-Flight-Tour in Cusco
We head to the airport early for our flight to the city of Cusco. You’ll be received at the airport and transferred to the hotel where you’ll be greeted with hot coca tea and a relaxing morning to adjust to the altitude. At 1:30pm we begin the city tour by visiting the most prominent places, such as: The Cathedral, the Museum of Koricancha, the archeological zones of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. We return to the hotel at 6:30pm.

Day 09: Trip to the Sacred Valley
After an 8:40am breakfast, we begin the tour to the Incan Sacred Valley with a visit to the Pisaq Market and Pisaq archeological zone. We’ll continue to Calca and then have a traditional lunch buffet in Urubamba. In the afternoon we will visit the archeological zone of Ollantaytambo. We’ll return to Cusco by way of Chinchero so we can stop and see the colonial church, another archeological zone and their local market. We arrive back to Cusco at 6:50pm, in time for our briefing for Machupicchu trip.

Day 10: Trip to the Citadel of MACHUPICCHU
An early 5:30am breakfast at the hotel starts our day and we catch our four-hour train ride to Aguas Calientes, the last settlement at the base of Machupicchu! The trip is pleasant and very beautiful with stunning landscapes and mountains on the route. In Aguas Calientes, we board a bus that will take us the last thirty minutes up to the archaeological site of Machupicchu. Once in the ruins, we have a three-hour guided tour of the most important parts of the citadel, and then we have free time to walk around or climb Mt Waynapicchu. In the afternoon, we head down to Aguas Calientes by bus, have a snack, and then take the 4:20pm train back to Ollantaytambo or Cusco, arriving at 8:20pm. We return to our hotel for the evening.

Day 11: Cusco-Lima Airport
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for the closure of your tour.
