MANU NATIONAL PARK – 4 DAYS

It is located very close to the city of Cusco and it has a variety of flora and wild fauna. Few hours away from Cusco, we initiate at Acjanacu, which is the start point of the cultural zone of Manu. It has a very dense layer of clouds that provides perpetual humidity and is an ideal habitat for the plants. This fascinating place lodges the representative bird called Gallito de las Rocas (Cock of the Rock - National bird of Peru), spectacled bear, orchids, among others. This cloudy forest is located between 2000m and 3500m above sea level and at least 50% of its plant species are endemic of this region.

Itinerary:

First Day:
We will transfer our passengers in our private transportation from their hotel and we will head to our first place called Ninamarca. Here we will visit this archeological complex full of history. We will then descend some minutes until we arrive to the district of Paucartambo, picturesque town known for its indigenous dances representatives of the music in Cusco. Then, we will start going uphill until we arrive to the highest point in Ajanacu (3550m above sea level), we then go down to San Pedro, first place where we will spend the night.

Second Day:
Early in the morning we will be able to observe the Gallito de las Rocas (Cock of the Rock), then after breakfast we will continue until we arrive to Pilcopata, here we can see monkeys, fig and palm trees, and medicinal plants, we can also see great part of the Secondary Forest with local plantation like; Coca, pineapple, yucca, etc. We will arrive to Pilcopata where we will have lunch, in the afternoon we will visit the native community of Huacaria, and we will stay overnight in Pilcopata.

Third Day:
Breakfast and then we will go to Atalaya in a bus, then we will take the motorboat which will bring you across the Amazonas River Lodge which is in the primary forest. In the afternoon we will have an excursion on dirt road where we can see gigantic trees, ants, cutters, fishes and 14 types of hummingbirds, we will also go uphill the lodge tower, from where we can observe the Monos Choros and other species. Camping.

Fourth Day:
In the morning we take a motorboat to Atalaya, and then take the bus to bring us to Cusco. Arriving at around 9:30pm. End of the service.
