COLLPA OF GUACAMAYOS PARIAMANU FULL CAMPING

04 DAYS

First Day: Puerto Maldonado-Boca Parimanu
We greet you at the Puerto Maldonado Airport and ride to Puerto Pastora to take our boat along the Madre de Dios River and Las Piedras to the River Boca Pariamanu where we will camp the first night. At night we will go on the traditional "Caimaneo" looking at alligators in the river from a canoe. During the trip we will see a wide variety of flora and wildlife such as: capibaras, eagles, vultures, periquitos, caimans, giant trees and many other species.

Second Day: Boca Parimanu-Collpa of Guacamayo
After breakfast, we continue to travel upriver for about three hours until we reach the vicinity of the clay lick of Pariamanu where we set up our second camp. From here we begin a walk through the jungle, where we can appreciate a wide variety of medicinal plants, chestnut trees and Brazil nut trees, and birds and animals like monkeys, sajinos and other species. Later we return to camp for lunch and take a short rest. In the afternoon we will go fishing in the river and then at night, we’ll go see a small collpa mammal before returning to camp to sleep.

Third Day: Collpa of Guacamayo-Rio Stonefly
After breakfast we visit the clay lick and see the parrots for approximately two hours. We see how these birds eat the clay cliff of salt and rich in minerals. Calcium serves to neutralize the toxins to their bodies, as they feed mainly on green fruit otherwise. Then we visit a small lake that has a variety of birds and other species. Hopefully we can see river otters. We continue on and return to the Boca de Piedra where we camp. Optional caimaneo (alligator search).

Fourth Day: Boca Piedra-Puerto Maldonado-Aeropuerto
After breakfast return to Puerto Maldonado and transfer to the airport.
