AMAZING SOUTH CIRCUIT

15 Days

Itinerary:

Day 1: Lima / City Tour
Pick up from your hotel in the morning for our city tour of Lima capital. We will visit both Colonial and Modern Lima that which consists of the Cathedral, Santo Domingo Convent, the Government Palace, Miraflores, Barranco and the beach circuit. We will arrive back to our hotel around 6pm. Accommodation.

Day 2: Lima / Paracas / Ica
At an early 4.30am we will start our trip to Paracas. Here we get to do the famous Ballesta Islands tour in a tour which lasts roughly 2 hours. Whilst on the tour we get to appreciate many important sea animals such as Sea lions, penguins, dolphins and more than 200 species more of birds. After this we will travel for 50 minutes until we reach the city of Ica (406 m) where we will settle into our selected hotel.

Day 3: Ica / City Tour
In the morning we will have a city tour visiting its museums and important wineries of the area. Ica is famous for its elaborate wines and internationally known for its Pisco. We will then visit an important oasis in the middle of the iquenyan desert known as Huacachina. Finally we will have an adventure tour of the sand dunes.

Day 4: Ica / Nazca City Tour
After breakfast we will travel for two hours with the provincial bus to Nazca (588 m). Upon arrival we will be transferred to our hotel where we can settle in. In the afternoon we will have a city tour visiting all the most important tourist attractions of Nazca such as the Chauchilla Cemetery, artisanal ceramics process and gold fabric handicrafts.

Day 5: Flight over the Nazca Lines / Arequipa
We will have an early start today with a transfer to the local airport and a briefing before we board the plane and fly over the enigmatic Nazca Lines (duration 40-50 minutes).After the flight we will be transferred to the city centre where we will have a free afternoon for shopping. We will take the interprovincial bus at night to Arequipa (2335 m) which will take approximately 10 hours.

Day 6: Arequipa / City Tour
Pick up and transfer to selected hotel. We will have the morning free to rest. After lunch we will start our city tour visiting the most important touristic attractions of the city such as the Cathedral, Santa Catalina Convent, San Francisco church and the Sabandia lookout point.

Day 7: Colca Canyon Chivay
After a 7.30am breakfast we will head out to the Colca Valley (3587 m) on a trip of approx 4 hours (private transport). We will have the chance to appreciate beautiful landscapes such as the Misti Volcano, the Chachani and the habitat of the vicunyas in the zone. After ascending to 4,600 m we will start our descent and arriving to the little town of Chivay (3,600 m). Here we will have lunch and settle into our hostel. The rest of the afternoon will be free with an optional visit to the La Calera thermal baths which is located 2 kms from Chivay town.

Day 8: Chivay / Mirador del Condor / Arequipa After a 5.45am breakfast we will continue our tour through the Colca Valley. We will have to opportunity to appreciate the beautiful landscapes. We will pass through Cabanaconde and finally arrive at the Mirador del Condor where we can enjoy a spectacular view of the canyon and of course the famous flight of the Condor. After enjoying this beautiful place with its amazing views of the of the canyon and Condor flight we will head back to Chivay. In Chivay we will have lunch and start our journey back to Arequipa city arriving approx 5.30pm. Overnight Arequipa and briefing about your trip to Puno.

Day 9: Arequipa / Puno
Early morning transfer to the bus terminal and bus to Puno (3810 m) (duration 6 hours). Pick up and transfer to selected hotel. The afternoon will be free for personal activities.

Day 10: Uros Islands / Taquile
The tour starts at 7.30am with our guests being picked up from their respective hotels. Transfer to the dock where we will meet the guide and start the tour. Our first stop will be a visit to the Uros Islands (3810 m). The island is well known for the skills of the inhabitantsat home and their artisanal boats made from totoras. After the visit we will continue by boat until we reach the last island of Taquile (3810 m). We will spend the most of the day here getting to know the customs of the people. Taquile is known for the warmth of its people and the skills of their weavings. At the same time we will visit the Inca and Colonial Zone. Finally we will return to Puno arriving around 4.30pm and transfer to our hotel.

Day 11: Puno / Cusco
Morning transfer to the bus terminal where we will take the bus for 12 hours to Cusco (3399 m). During the journey we will stop at tourist attractions such as Pikillacta, Raqchi and Andahualillas. Pick up at bus terminal and transfer to hotel. Dinner.

Day 12: Cusco
Free day to acclimatise or for shopping. Very important to regain energy. Accommodation.

Day 13: Sacred Valley Tour / Cusco
Around 8.30am our guide will pick up passengers from their respective hotels (or place indicated) in order to start the tour. First stop will be Pisaq (2950m). Along the way we will make stops in order to visit some touristic attractions such as the Corao Market and view points of the Sacred Valley. Upon arrival to Pisaq we will visit the main market (also we can visit the ruins of the same name). We will then continue our tour and pass through the annexes of Calca and Lamay until we reach Urubamba (2871 m) where we will delight in a buffet lunch in a typical tourist restaurant. We will then carry on until we arrive to the arqueological zone of Ollantaytambo (2792 m). Here we will have the chance to visit the Arqueological Park of the same name accompanied by our guide. Finally we will return back to Cusco passing through Chincheros (3780 m). Here we will visit the Colonial Church and also the indigenous market. We will arrive back to Cusco around 7pm.

Day 14: Machu Picchu / Cusco
At 6.30am our transfer will pick us up from our hotel (or place indicated) and we will be taken in private transport to the train station to take our train to Aguas Calientes (2350 m) town (approx 3 ½ hours journey). Upon arrival we will take the bus for 30 minutes up to the marvellous fortress of Machu Picchu (2400 m). Accompanied by our guide we will receive a tour (approx 2 hours)o utlining the most important aspects of this religious exhibition. After the tour we may have time to climb up the famous mountain of Huayna Picchu (2700 m) or delight simply in the peace that this place offers. We will coordinate with our guide a time to be back in Aguas Calientes in order to be in the train station half an hour before our train departs for Cusco.
Arrival to Cusco will be around 9.30pm. We will be met in the train station in order to be taken to our hotels.

Day 15: Cusco / Lima
After breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our return to Lima.
