CUSCO, PUNO, AREQUIPA CIRCUIT. PERU

12 Days

Itinerary:

Day 1: Lima Hotel
Pick up from Airport and transfer to selected hotel. Rest of day free.

Day 2: Lima / Cusco / City Tour
After an early breakfast we will be transferred to Lima airport to take our flight to Cusco (3339 m). Upon arrival we will be met and transferred to selected hotel where we will receive a welcome cup of coca tea. The rest of the day is free to acclimatise. At 1.30pm we will have a City Tour visiting important tourist places such as the Cathedral, Koricancha museum and the four famous Inca Ruins of Sachsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay. We will return back to our hotels around 6.30pm.

Day 3: Sacred Valley of the Incas / Cusco
Entre 08.30am el guía recogerá a los pasajeros del Hotel o el sitio que se indique para luego iniciar el viaje con rumbo a Pisaq, durante el viaje se hace diferentes paradas para visitar algunos lugares de interés turístico como el mercado de Corao y miradores especiales al valle. Al llegar a Pisaq se visita el Mercado principal (también es posible visitar las Ruinas del mismo nombre). Se continua por el valle y se recorre los anexos de Calca, Lamay; hasta llegar a URUBAMBA donde se deleitaremos un agradable almuerzo Buffet en un típico restaurante turístico. Luego se continúa por la misma dirección del valle para llegar a la zona Arqueológica de OLLANTAYTAMBO, aquí se visita el parque arqueológico del mismo nombre acompañado del guía y finalmente retorno por la ruta de CHINCHEROS donde se visitara la iglesia colonial y también el mercado indio. Finalmente se llega a Cuzco entre las 7.00pm.

Day 4: Cusco / Aguas Calientess
At 6.30am we will be picked up from the Hotel in private transport and taken to the train station. From here will travel approx 3 ½ hours until we reach the town of Aguas Calientes (2350 m) (Machu Picchu). Upon arrival we will be mat and transferred to our hotel. Optional afternoon hike to the highest hill of the zone: Putucusi (2457 m). From this point we can appreciate an impressive view of Machu Picchu (2400 m) and its valley surrounded by impressive mountains. Accommodation.

Day 5: Machu Picchu / Cusco
At around 540am we will take our bus up to Machu Picchu (30 minutes). Upon arrival to the ruins we will have a guided tour of Machu Picchu for approx 2 hours visiting the most important sites of Machu Picchu. Afterwards we will have time to maybe climb up the second mountain of Huayna Picchu (20 m). Please note that we have to be in Aguas Calientes at least half an hour before our train departs. Arrival to Cusco around 9.30pm and transfer to our hotel.

Day 6: Cusco / Puno
At 7.30am we will be transferred to the Bus Station in order to take our bus to Puno (3810 m). In the trip of 6 hours we will have the opportunity to appreciate beautiful scenery and mountains. Upon arrival to Puno City we will be picked up and transferred to our Hotel where we will receive a briefing about the next day’s tour.

Day 7: Uros Islands / Amantani
This tour starts at 7.30am with the pickup of its passengers from their respective hotels. Transfer to the dock where we will meet the guide and start the tour. The first stop will be the Uros Islands (3819 m). These islands are known for the skills of its habitants at home and the making of their handcraft goods from totoras reeds. After a brief look around the island we continue the tour in yacht until we arrive to the island of Amantani ( two hours in boat). Overnight in a family home with basic facilities. We will visit the main attractions always accompanied by a guide. Finally we will visit a typical welcome folklore show typical to the island.

Day 8: Amantani Island / Taquile / Puno
After breakfast with our host family we will carry on the tour visiting the island of Taquile (3810 m) which we will be visiting for most of the day getting to know the customs of the habitants. Taquile is known for the warmth of its people and the skills of their weavings, at the same time we will visit the Inca and colonial zone. We will finish our tour and head back to Puno city arriving approx 4.30pm and transferred to our hotels.

Day 9: Puno / Arequipa
After breakfast we will be transferred to the bus terminal to travel for six hours to Arequipa City (2335m). Pick up and transfer to our selected hotel. The rest of our afternoon will be free. Accommodation.

Day 10: Colca Canyon Chivay Arequipa
After breakfast at 7.30 am we will begin our tour heading off towards the Colca Valley (3587m) in a journey of approx. four hours. We will appreciate beautiful scenery such as the Misti Volcani and the Chachani – the habitat of the vicunyas in the zone. After ascending o 4,600 m we will begin our descent arriving at Chivay (3700 m). After lunch we will settle into our hotel. We will then have the rest of the afternoon free. We will also have an optional visit to the Calera Thermal Baths located 2 kms from Chivay town.

Day 11: Chivay Mirador del Condor / Arequipa
After a 5.45am breakfast we will continue our town trough the Colca Valley. We will have to opportunity to appreciate the beautiful landscapes. We will pass through Cabanaconde and finally arrive at the Mirador del Condor where we can enjoy a spectacular view of the canyon and of course the famous flight of the Condor. After enjoying this beautiful place with its amazing views of the of the Canyon and Condor flight we will head back to Chivay. In Chivay we will have lunch and start our journey back to Arequipa city arriving approx 5.30pm. Overnight in Hotel and information given regarding our tour to Puno.

Day 12: Transfer to Airport / Lima
In the morning we will be transferred to the airport for our return trip to Lima.
