INCA TRAIL TREK TO MACHUPICCHU
4 DAYS

First Day: Cusco - Km. 82 – Wayllabamba
We pick you up from the hotel in our private bus and drive via the towns of Chinchero and Ollantaytambo to our starting point known as Km. 82. We cross the Inca Trail Control points and meet up with the rest of the professional team which will make our trip a success. At the bank of the Urubamba River, we start our Inca Trail trek. Later, we arrive at Llactapata, where there is a group of important ruins and where we will have lunch. After a brief rest, we continue on to our first campsite in Wayllambamba. After a prepared dinner, we spend the night. (Lunch/Dinner)
Second Day: Wayllabamba – Pacaymayu
A full breakfast begins this day. It is one of the hardest days on the Inca Trail. We start the hike with a slow but scenic ascent to the top of the first pass, Warmihuañusca, which is situated at 4200 meters / 13,800 feet. From this location, we can appreciate an impressive view of two geographic panoramas: one, of mountains and snow covered peaks, and the other, no less beautiful, of the semi-tropical valley. With this marvelous view, we continue and descend to Pacaymayu, our second campsite. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Third Day: Pacaymayu – Wiñaywayna
After breakfast, we continue along the Inca Trail to reach the archeological zone of Runkuragay where we find important evidence of the Incan culture. We continue our route to Sayacmarca where we have lunch. On this route, we find the group of ruins of Phuyupatamarca. Another tough hike takes us to our last campsite, Wiñaywayna. After dinner, we spend our last night in the pleasant company of our porters. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)
Fourth Day: Wiñaywayna – Machupicchu
We get up early, have breakfast and start our hike to Intipunku. On the way, we observe the fabulous sunrise, and we take time to appreciate another marvel: the panoramic view of the city of Machupicchu! We descend down and explore this magical place, full of energy and the Incan culture, with a guided visit to the enclosures, plazas, sacred fountains, temples, towers, and the agricultural and urban sections of Machupicchu. After our two hour tour, we have free time in which you can go up Mt Waynapicchu. Finally, we go down to the town of Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch if you choose, before returning to Cusco in the train, arriving around 8:00pm, and are returned to your hotel. (Breakfast)
